Data sources and method
We list 865 homes: every licensed care home on SWD's list (identified by its LORCHE number), the nursing homes registered with the Department of Health, and the Guangdong scheme homes. Every fact comes from an official source below, with its date.
Method
- Names, addresses, phones, accreditation, place types, religion and meals: SWD open data (daily).
- Coordinates: SWD's RCHE location layer on the CSDI Portal, matched by LORCHE number.
- Licence validity, capacity and licence-holding company: SWD's private home licence lists (monthly). We keep no individual licence holders' names.
- Places by care level and the operating agency: SWD's subsidised and non-subsidised places lists (quarterly), matched by phone and name.
- Vouchers, respite and emergency placement: SWD's lists, matched by phone, name and address.
- Fee figures: from SWD pages and documents, re-checked each April and February.
What we don't show
We don't reproduce SWD's conviction, warning or licence cancellation records; we link to them (see checking SWD records). SWD's Elderly Information Website does not allow commercial reproduction, so we don't copy its fee tables, photos or vacancy figures; we link to it.

Corrections
When an official source changes, we follow at the next daily update. To report an error, or if you run a home and want to update its listing, email corrections@carehomes.hk (placeholder address) with the home's name and LORCHE number; verified corrections are dated.
